Brian Webster

I am nominating Brian Webster as an inductee into the National Extension Technology Community’s Hall of Fame. Brian has always had a passion for the NETC as evidenced by his involvement over the years. As I know it, Brian would be deserving of this recognition because:
- He has been an active and engaged member for as long as I’ve known him (25 years) and then some before I met him.
- Has presented at least 15 conferences, sometimes giving multiple presentations.
- He is always willing to help NETC however he can, whenever he can.
- Brian was an integral person in the planning, execution, and hosting of the joint ACE/NETC conference in 2009 in Iowa. He also provided support behind the scenes for the quick pivot to host the virtual conference in 2021 when the community’s prior plans fell through.
- Brian served on the Steering Committee from 2012-2013 (1 year) and then transitioned to a Board member, serving as Vice President from 2013-2017 and then for a year as Board President. That’s 6 years total in leadership service to the Community.
- Brian was integral in transitioning the Community into a 501c3; defining processes, by-laws, and polling people on what the NETC acronym would stand for in the future.
These are the few things I know about. I’m sure Brian has contributed more to the Community than I know. As you know, Brian is quick to help and very quiet about the work he does. With that in mind, I’m sure I’ve overlooked some key contributions and for that I apologize, but I must submit my nomination for Brian; the guy who quietly works behind the scenes day in and day out to keep things running. Brian has contributed greatly to the Community over the years which, in turn, has helped shaped NETC into what it is today. I’m proud to nominate Brian Webster for the National Extension Technology Community’s Hall of Fame. In my eyes, he is quite deserving.

Adding Brian Webster for group consideration. I believe he was part of the group that helped us moved to an independent organization. I believe he did a ton of “behind the scenes” work to make NETC relevant.

Brian is another long-time officer of the National Extension Technology Community. Brian was a part of the core group that worked many hours creating and modifying the by-laws in order that the organization could incorporate under IRS 501 (c) (3) regulations.
Brian is a NETC Founding member. Fifty-three individuals put down their own money to build a nest egg of funds to pay for IRS and State of Ohio filing to incorporate our organization.
Brian served in the presidential track as VP (with Duane Rigsby as President) for four years before serving as president for one year.
Brian has often been a NETC presenter.
