Bree Stark – Completion of the Hurricane Marine Debris Removal Project
Bree’s dedication and commitment were key in helping Bay, Gulf, and Franklin Counties recover and restore local bays and estuaries.
This week’s conference is Bree’s first with NETC. Her involvement with Extension started with 4-H in 2000 when she was just 9 years old. She continued her education at the University of Florida majoring in Agricultural Communications and serving as a student intern in 2012 helping U/IFAS Bay County establish it first social media accounts. Bree returned to work on the Hurricane Michael recovery project in April 2020 as Program Assistant and completed her work as Project Manager in September 2022. The project removed over 2.5 million pounds of marine from the shoreline and waters of local bays. Her implementation of technology and associated workflows will continue to benefit other communities for years to come.
