Pete Vergot – Retiring after 25 years of service

We would like to honor District Extension Director, Dr. Pete Vergot, for his 25 years of dedicated service to UF/IFAS. He has left an indelible mark on our institution. His passion for education, outreach, and innovation has been an inspiration to us all, and his tireless efforts have helped shape the face of Extension at the University of Florida.

Dr. Vergot’s commitment to innovation and technology has been a hallmark of his work in Extension. He has always been a big proponent of integrating technology into Extension programming, and his leadership in this area has helped to position UF/IFAS as a leader in digital Extension. His vision and dedication have helped to ensure that Extension remains relevant and responsive to the changing needs of our communities.

Dr. Vergot’s contributions to UF/IFAS and Extension have been invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for his many years of service. His dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to our mission have made a lasting impact on the lives of countless Floridians, and we will miss him greatly as he embarks on his well-deserved retirement.

As Dr. Vergot prepares to retire in August, we want to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation for all that he has done for UF/IFAS and Extension.
